You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.

So many of us have big dreams and hopes for the future. We plot, plan, and design a life or lifestyle for which we long for. Just when we are ready to take the first steps toward our journey, too often, fear of failure kicks in thwarting our efforts.

When attempting to create change in your life, you need to understand your thoughts sometimes want to hold you back in the familiar. Our primitive brains, kick in with the “danger mantra” wanting to keep us in the familiar pattern, routine or setting.  Your thoughts keep you in a holding pattern of sorts by telling you this is too hard or difficult.

As a result, we become disheartened and sometimes just give up. Our dreams are squelched, postponed, or long forgotten. Leaving us disappointed or full or regret.

Next time you attempt to create change in your life, be aware of your thoughts. Ask yourself “how do want to feel vs how do feel? These slight shifts in your perspective bring awareness to your thoughts enabling you to have a better chance of succeeding.
